Welcome to Mrs. Ferguson's Third Grade Class!  This week we will be studying diagraphs, root words with prefixes and suffixes, un, re, ful, er, ly in Word Work. Reading workshop we will focus on how to find a good book, when to abandon a book, and how to write to respond to our reading and keep a log. monthly reading calendar. Writing workshop will begin each day with a grammar mini -lesson on pronouns, subject pronouns, and object pronouns. I will not be sending home the reading logs, instead we will write them in class. Next month we will go back to the monthly reading calendar. Math will be finishing up our unit on fractions and learning about decimals. Social Studies we will be studying how our government works and economics.  Science we will learning about matter; physical and chemical properties; as well as reviewing the three states of matter. We will end each day with a Read Aloud weekly story. This week's story is Two Days in  May p. 73
