• My educational degrees include: BS in Elementary Education and M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction from UTC, and an Ed.S degree in Instructional Leadership from Tennessee Tech. I also have a Library Science endorsement from Southern College. Obviously, I consider myself a student!
• I spent 12 years as a teacher at Ooltewah Middle school and eight years teaching at Snow Hill Elementary. My last year in the classroom was ten years ago teaching second grade at Signal Mountain Elementary. Jean Trohanis hired me; when I became a principal she was my mentor. We continue to share a close personal and professional relationship.
• For the last ten years I have worked in administrative positions as a Curriculum Coordinator at the district level, Assistant Principal at Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts and spent five and a half years as founding principal of Battle Academy. During the past year I was Area Superintendent for the 24 schools in the Ooltewah, Brainerd, East Brainerd and Hwy. 58 areas.
• I requested the opportunity from Dr. Scales to return to the school level. I wanted once again be part of the learning day with students and teachers. I feel extremely fortunate to be working with the students, teachers and families of the Thrasher learning community.
