Thrasher Cool Cats Chorus
The chorus is scheduled to sing in the Little Theatre of SMMHS May 8, at 4:30 pm. for I-Fest. They will enter through the lower level of the middle school entrance. I have been asked to submit a list of names ahead of time so that passes for the students who will be singing can get in at no charge. Please check your calendars and be watching for a note where you can respond as to the presence or absence of your child at the performance. Once again dress will be a Thrasher t-shirt and pants.
Friday, May 14 is the date that the chorus will sing at the Lookouts baseball game. Though the game does not begin until 7:15 the students will need to be at the ticket office at 6:30 pm. They will then move to the gate that will take them to home plate. Please make plans with your child as to where to meet you when they finish singing. They are to wear a Thrasher t-shirt. If your child does not have one, have him/her see me as I have a few extras.
The chorus continues to perform during assembly every month with character songs and patriotic songs.

Fifth-Grade Music Class
Recorders have been distributed and almost everyone has paid for his/her recorder. The recorder, book, and neck strap are a package deal and cost $10. Checks can be made out to Thrasher Elementary or students can make arrangements pay in installments. Recorders will be used throughout the entire school year and students are to bring their recorders and books to music class each week.
The only memorized recorder piece required is "O, How Lovely is the Evening" to be played for graduation in May. All ten stars must be earned by May 1.

Thrasher Handbell Choir
Wonderful job Monday night, Handbell Choir. Those that missed your concert missed a real treat! How proud I am of you reading all those notes without the aid of color or anything else. You are awesome!♥
Handbells will play at their graduation on May 24 at SMMHS.

Third Grade Program
The third-graders are working very hard on their program, "Music Class," that will be presented on Tuesday,at the May 4 PTA meeting at 6:30 pm. Each student has a special part-----one that they chose themselves. As spring sports start up, please give their coaches a heads-up that this is a one-time commitment and was scheduled and published in the handbook at the beginning of the school year. Please contact me immediately if your child will be out-of-town the night of the program as I shall have to give his/her part to another child.
