We are halfway through the first 9 weeks!
Our budding, young authors have selected a narrative to revise, and I am so proud of them for learning the meaning of "constructive criticism." Not one complaint was noticed when we discovered a better way to hook the reader into our story. Not one sigh was heard when we corrected those run-on sentences. We have some awesome narrations to display in the hall for open house and hope you can make it next Tuesday, Sept. 14, at 6:00pm.
Our fruit and vegetable seeds are beginning to germinate, and soon we will be collecting soil from the outdoor garden and a few earthworms to loosen things up a bit. :)
We will continue to take the two-minute, timed tests once a week on the multiplication facts. The goal is to get all eighty problems correct in two minutes. After 4 tests, I have already seen improvement.
Thank you, parents, for bringing in the tennis balls for the chairs, the small prizes, and incentives for the students. I appreciate your generosity!
Note: Progress reports come home Friday, September 10.
